Wind and Sand Breaks
Windbreak with Permeable Netting on Concrete Posts
Wind loads are calculated for each site individually — height, spacing, embedding depth, and netting permeability percentage are determined according to the regional design wind speed, accompanied by a bill of quantities per linear meter.

Windbreak Components

  • Line posts at regular spacing
  • End and corner posts with larger cross-section
  • Angled stay wires anchoring the line at its ends
  • Windbreak netting with specified permeability rate
  • Top, middle, and bottom tension strands
  • Binding clips and head caps
Wind & Sand Breaks

Protection for Exposed Sites From Wind and Sand Encroachment

The windbreak screen mitigates wind speed rather than blocking it entirely: permeable netting with calculated porosity calms the airflow behind it for a distance equal to multiples of its height, unlike a solid wall which generates turbulence and redeposits sand close by. The netting is supported by concrete posts driven directly into the soil.

Key Features

Netting permeability is chosen according to purpose — crop protection or sand encroachment mitigation.
Rust-free and rot-free posts withstand sandblasting, heat, and corrosive open-site salts.
Height, spacing, and embedding depth are determined based on regional design wind speeds.
Angled stays at ends and corners anchor the line and resist net tension under wind loads.
Long continuous straight runs, with any custom post length required by the project.
